Delete Your Account
You can delete your Expentia account and associated data directly in the app.
How to Delete in the App
To delete your account:
- Open the app
- Go to Settings → Security
- Under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account
- Re-enter your password and type DELETE to confirm
Once confirmed, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account information (email, username, profile)
- All transaction records and financial data
- Financial account connections and settings
- Categories, budgets, and preferences
- Attachments, receipts, and uploaded files
- Analytics and spending insights data
- All other personal information stored in our system
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. After you confirm deletion in the app, we remove your account and associated data from our active systems. You will not be able to recover your transaction history, receipts, or any other data.
Data Retention
After you confirm deletion:
- Your account is deleted and you will be signed out
- We make a best-effort attempt to delete uploaded files (receipts/attachments). In rare cases, file cleanup may complete shortly after the account deletion
- Some information may be retained for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance for a limited period, as required by law
Alternative Options
If you're not ready for permanent deletion, consider these alternatives:
- Data Export: Download your data before deletion (if available in app settings)
- Log Out: Sign out of your account and stop using the app
